Jakarta athletes continue to achieve spectacular achievements at the National Student Sports Week XVIII(POMNas), South Kalimantan.

Jakarta Chess Team Manager, Tedi Cahyono said the 11 gold medals were won by Gilbert Elroy Putra (Men's Individual Standard), Dziththauly Ramadhan (Men's 1st Best Board Standard), Akmalnaidi Akbar (Men's 2nd Best Board Standard).

Jakarta also managed to win two bronze medals by Umi Fisabillah in the Women's Individual Standard and Women's Individual Lightning events.
"Thank God, I express my gratitude to Allah, we succeeded in becoming General Champion at POMNas this year. From sixteen competition numbers, we managed to win eleven gold and two bronze," he explained.
This Jakarta Field of Sports Cultivation Head, appreciated the extraordinary struggle of the athletes with the support of officials and everyone who had provided assistance.
"This achievement is very proud for Jakarta. Thank you and my highest appreciation, chess can make the best contribution, thus Jakarta can become the General Champion of POMNas XVIII," he uttered.
He asked the athletes to remain enthusiastic and more motivated to train for achieving the best achievements in the future.
"Hope they will be able to represent Indonesia in international competitions and achieve the highest achievements," he hoped.
He added Jakarta fielded six male and six female athletes with four officials.
"Once again I would like to express my thanks to all parties, Acting Governor, DPRD Chairman, Dispora Head, Bapomi, and Jakartans who have supported and prayed for," he added.
Meanwhile, the gold medal winning chess athlete, Achmad Labib Najibi, admitted that he was very grateful for the achievements he had achieved at POMNas XVIII.
"Thank God, I thank my parents, Dispora Head, manager, coach and everyone who has helped and supported me to be able to win this gold medal.
This Gunadarma University student wants to be able to represent Indonesia in international competitions.
"Hopefully, I can bring pride to my parents, homeland and nation. Please pray and support," he hoped.
